Photo update because I don’t have the energy to write a word update and I’ve been snapping random pictures for the last month and thought I would share. :)

I’m still having a hard time finding the energy to write a post. I’m doing okay- it’s mostly because I am feverishly researching all the things my doctors want me to add to my arsenal (methylfolate, methylB12, carnitine, Zyrtec, Zantac, Cromolyn, Baclofen, Valium, Prednisone, Medibulk), as well as what I want to add (CoQ10, D-ribose, bread, cheese, Toblerones :-)).

So, my precious few computer hours are used up on research, emails, doctors, insurance, bills, and more research.

But, if you would so indulge me, I can post some photos of the things going on in my life (of course, with my fun anonymizing effects).

Visitors!

A visit from Baby A. and her Mama….

… my friend, Z.! (and that’s my “little” dog)
This photo was a BIG DEAL: I put on jeans and boots (my first flat pair of boots EVER) for the first time in 17 months. Literally. I have only worn leggings/yoga pants and Uggs/runners every day for 17 months.
Of course, as soon as Z. left, I went back to my PJs, but it’s the effort that counts!

A visit from my mother AND brother!

Yes, I am standing up and smiling and tolerating photos! Amazing.

The Seattle Seahawks won the Super Bowl! But Bowie was not a fan of the celebratory fireworks and backed himself into my lap in fear. 😦

  2. I take methylfolate, methylB12, Zyrtec, carnitine, coQ10 and Klonopin (another benzo like Valium, but you probably already know that). Cromolyn I hear good things about and Prednisone seems to be great for some and bad for others. (I’m scared to take it myself because my father had a bad reaction and I think I got my messed up copy of whichever MTHFR gene that begins with C from him — he has a ton of allergies.)

Wow, you take so many of the things I’m about to start! Did you start them in any particular order? Did you follow Yasko or anyone? I’m thinking I’m going to yet the Yasko protocol, which means I won’t be starting the methyl stuff for a few months. I’m going to give the prednisone a shot, but not long term… we’ll see how it works for a week or two. Eek!

  3. Lovely photos! Well done for getting dressed into jeans and boots, I know all too well how hard and what an achievement that is. I’m sorry to hear you’re still struggling so much I really hope Spring brings some respite for you. I take D-ribose and swear by it for keeping my energy at a steady level – both before and after doing the LP I’ve found it really helpful. I’m not sure what methylB12 is, but I had weekly B12 injections for a long time and then monthly and they really helped reduce muscle cramping and soreness. Take care of yourself, thinking of you xx

Thanks for the comment, Jess. I think I will take the D-ribose. I’ve heard good things from too many people now and I don’t think it interferes with the methylation supplements I want to start. I stopped taking B12 about a month ago and actually started to have some respite from my headaches, so maybe I was taking the wrong kind. So much research to do.
Hope you are still holding on to that new energy! X

Thank YOU so much for reading! Can you believe I put on actual clothes and stepped outside the door and posed and smiled? Exhausting! 😉
Hope you’re having a good week, also. X

Great photo journal! Can completely relate to time being eaten up by research, doctors visits and communication, drug research, etc. I highly recommend adding Toblerones, at the very least 🙂 Prayers to you that your body is in the healing process and you will feel well (enough) soon!

Thank you very much, what a lovely message. I was thinking about it and, actually,I think MOST of my time is being eaten up by keeping a food journal! It’s so tedious!

Lovely photos! You’re so wise to so carefully research all the proposed supplements and medications. I hope any changes you make are beneficial! My dog didn’t like the Seahawks fireworks either.

I don’t know if I’m wise… I drive my doctors crazy looking at these drugs and supplements for months on end, debating… I’m always just so paranoid of making things worse.

Ha! Thank you, Lindsay! My dog is about ten pounds heavier than I am and he’s a big baby. Anytime there’s a loud noise, he looks at me with eats flattened: “am I in danger? Do I need to crawl into your lap?” Poor guy. 🙂

  8. Great pics, I’m very curious about those plantain crackers 😉 Research can suck up a lot of time and energy, completely understand the photo post, take care 🙂

The plantain crackers were from Paleo Mom. Just green plantains and coconut oil. I was very excited at first because they have the crunch I was looking for, but, honestly plantain is pungent. I miss my oat crackers which were more neutral. If you make them, I advise spreading them VERY thin. Good luck!

Thank you for commenting, Laurel! I am desperate to go outside. Sometimes I think we should move somewhere sunnier so I’m more inclined to hobble into the garden. Happy my photos don’t bore people to tears. 😉
