I updated my symptom list for my appointment today, printed out all my tests from this year, put together a list of my allergies and the drugs and supplements I take, and wrote out the stream of consciousness below, which I’m sure my doctor will be thrilled about (sarcasm):

Hahahahaha! You are going to be very popular! On a serious note though, I hope your Doctor takes your list seriously.
H-E, you crack me up! I’m happy I gave you a giggle… And I hope the doc at least has ideas of his own-even if he doesn’t look at the list (I’ve never had a doctor look at one of my lists yet- and they are usually much smaller and more realistic than this!).
Maybe this visit will be the one for list reading! Maybe staring the first line a rap or something will get his attention??! Good luck. xx
Ha! That made me laugh. This doc turned out to be pretty old, rap might not have been the ice breaker. 🙂
My gosh I cant type today! **Starting the first line in a rap**….
Oh yes, your doctor will love you! Especially with supplements and non-pharmaceutical treatments on your list. Doctors love all those things they know nothing about! 🙂 Seriously, I hope your doctor will look at your list and take you seriously. Everything on your list sounds logical to me.
I know, every doctor I take a list to looks at me as if to say, “you know we only have 20 minutes together, right?” 🙂 thanks for saying my ideas sound logical – every time I read something that might potentially help, I write it down. It’s daunting.
I know what you mean. There are so many potential treatments it’s mind boggling, not to mention it would cost a fortune to try them all. It’s good you made a list to keep them all straight. I should do that. I’ve read about some logical sounding treatments only to promptly forget about them again. I look forward to reading about how your appt went.
OH, LORD. IF THEY WOULD AT LEAST FIGURE OUT THE CAUSE, THEN MAYBE WE’D KNOW WHERE TO START!! UNTIL THEN IT JUST ALL SEEMS VERY FUTILE…..
If I took this list to my doctor she would take it seriously. I hope you have a really good doctor who will take yours seriously! The fact that you made a list is great. Doctors LIKE you to be prepared! (most, just not the ones who think we are hypochondriacs). You may not get all those done at once, but they are definitely not asking too much! It shows you are trying to help your doctor to help you! It shows you are serious, you are suffering, you want help, you want to feel better, and that youve done your homework! Good luck, can’t wait to hear how it goes!
This was the best pep talk message ever! Thank you! I really needed that! It made me feel much better about being such a freak with my lists and my far flung ideas. You have a good doctor – my new doctor didn’t look at the the list, but he was thorough. I will write about it soon. Xo
